The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) closed at 7,930.58 points yesterday, up 22.28 points at a growth rate of 0.28 percent over the close of the previous day. On an YTD basis TASI registered a positive return of 23.57 percent.

Three out of four market cap indices traded in the positive zone, with Micro Cap up by 1.19 percent to close at 12,250.57. It has advanced over thirty percent in three months.

Eleven out of the 15 sectors led by Agriculture & Food Industries (+3.2 percent) ended with modest gains on Tuesday, while, Energy & Utilities performed worst for the second consecutive day and shed further 272.63 points or 4.78 percent for the day.

Heavy weights ended the day in mixed territory. Saudi Arabian Fertilizers appeared at top, rose 1.3 percent to close at SR194.5.

Kingdom Holding Co. retrieved the losses of previous two days and ranked second among large cap companies, up 1.22 percent for the day.

On the other hand, Saudi Electricity Co. (SECO) traded in the negative zone for the third consecutive day, suffered profit taking and shed 5.38 percent. It became the largest loser among all Saudi stocks to close the day at SR14.95.

Market participants responded positively for the day. Tadawul volume reflected an increase of 7.2 percent, surpassing previous day's 556.98 million shares.

Total equity turnover stood at SR14.8 billion compared to SR14.5 billion in previous day.

Alinma Bank led the trading activity with trades of over 83.7 million shares, which were roughly 14 percent of Tadawul's total volume. The value of these shares reached to SR1.3 billion.

Out of 147 stocks traded yesterday, 86 were up and 48 were down while 13 remained unchanged.

Almarai Company showed the best performance among all Saudi stocks, surging 10 percent for the day.

Atheeb Telecom and Saudi Re for Cooperative Reinsurance followed it, with both jumping to 9.9 percent to close at 28.80 and 18.35 respectively.
