China Southern Airlines wins WPCA Afternoon title

China Southern Airlines defeated My Care Hala Green by 7 wickets to bag the WPCA Afternoon title in their debut participation.
Elsewhere, AOT defeated Nestle Milo, Fuchs Al-Hamrani got the better of Munch Bakery, AMI Juffali beat Marine Services and UCC went down to Al Safree in the Summer afternoon tournament.
My Care Hala Green started reasonably well but lost three quick wickets to be 72 for 3 after it put on 51 for the first wicket as Salman made 27 and Azhar 23. Hassan Malik was joined by Farhad to take the tally to 136 when Hassan Malik returned for a well made 51 off 29 balls.
Later Farhad held one end to stroke unbeaten 49 in 36 balls to get to impressive 191 for 7 in allotted 20 overs. Skipper Abdullah Zahid grabbed 3-38, Awais 2-24 and Farooq had one.
China Southern Airlines, in reply, was tottering at 20 for 2 when Owais holding his end added 63 for the third wicket with Asim who made 36. Skipper Abdullah came to the crease to join already set Owais at 83 for 3 in 9 overs. Both of them played superbly to get to the winning post of 192 for 3 with 6 balls to spare as Owais remained unbeaten on 76 off 48 balls and Man of the Match Abdullah Zahid hit unbeaten 57 including 5 fours and 3 huge sixes and together they stitched unbroken 109 runs in 60 balls for the fourth wicket. Owais scalped 2-27 and Osama got the other wicket. The match was supervised by Dr. Sayed Ziauddin and Akram.
AMI Juffali batted first against Marines Services to post 131 for 9, as Rafi Gujjar made 36 and Imaad and Mustafa identical 19s. Shakeel took 4 wickeets for 22 runs.
Marine Services in reply was restricted to 128 for 8 as Rafi Gujjar scalped 3-31, Zafar 2-24 and Imaad 2-25 with only Shakeel making 34 and Sohail 22.
Munch Bakery batting first against Fuchs Al-Hamrani piled up 160 for 9 through Nabil 45, Tariq Jamal 42 and Amanullah 23. Khoban grabbed 4 wickets for 38 runs. Fuchs hit the target at 163 for 4 in 84 balls with 24 balls to spare as Farid smashed 8 fours and 3 sixes to compile 63 in 25 balls and Irfan remained unbeaten on 78 off 37 deliveries. Zainulhuda had 2-21.
United Cricket Club scored 159 for 9 in 20 overs against Al Safree thanks to Sarfaraz 34, Rehman 23 and Irfan 21. Mubashir grabbed 4 wickets for 29, Manjeet 2-31 and Abdulrauf 2-30. Al Safree reached the victory target of 160 for 7 with one ball 3 wicketes to spare as Zahid smashed 67 in 38 balls and Manjeet 23.
Nestle Milo using the track first posted 147 for 9 in 20 overs as Nadeem Arshad stroked 49 with 8 fours, Aijaz 19 and Anas 15.
Hamza Shahid took 3-15 and Shahid 2-18. AOT in reply achieved 153 for 2 in just 88 balls with 32 balls to spare as Shahid plundered 85 in 45 balls and Zakir Habeeb made 30 and together they added 115 runs for the first wicket. Nasir took 2-26.
