Manchester United closed the gap at the top of the table by just one point behind Chelsea. It was Javier Hernandez’s controversial winning goal gave Manchester United a dramatic 3-2 victory against nine-man Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in England on Sunday.

We all sat to watch the much-awaited tussle between the two leading English clubs. Although we had a majority of Chelsea supporters in our household I was the “odd man out” for the “Reds.” They were all donning their favorite blue T-shirts, while the match was on! Based on the number of T-Shirts worn by the football crazy youth here, “blue” had a slight edge over “red” in the Kingdom.

It is said that it was first time a Premier League team has been reduced to just nine players, since the same Chelsea has been reduced to just nine players while playing against Manchester City, in 2010.

The race issue has exploded again in English football on Sunday when Chelsea made an official complaint, this time, about referee Mark Clattenburg who is alleged to have made a comment of racial nature to John Obi Mikel following the club’s controversial defeat. — S.H. Moulana
