Detecon Al-Saudia, which offers a wide range of ICT services, is making efforts to complete a major upgrade to the data-center infrastructure in a strong bid to further enhance its capacity while maintaining the high quality standards of the services provided across the Kingdom.

"We are in process to complete a major upgrade to our data center infrastructure in order to further enhance our capacity while maintaining the same high quality standards that registered huge success so far,” Dirk Doerrschuck, president and CEO, Detecon Al-Saudia, told Arab News.

“Our business from historical point of view is that we do services in the telecommunication sector with a very strong focus on network infrastructure and one of our largest project and services include MoPTT/Saudi telecom in long distance transmission network, which is mainly related to operating fiber optic transmission network for long distances," he added.

The company has more than 30 maintenance and operation sectors across the Kingdom. It will have a significantly increased MWs power capacity as it is working on its German TUV IT data center Trusted Site Infrastructure (TSI) Level 3.1 extended re-certification to be completed shortly, he added.

“On top of that we completed the third major upgrade to our cloud infrastructure in direct cooperation with Dell Secure Works. We are the first and so far the only cloud service provider who did this in Saudi Arabia and you could call it a version 3.0, but we call and branded it to Sahaba. With Sahaba, we are now able to cater full-fledged enterprise cloud solutions to our clients,” Doerrschuck added.

When asked about the number of Saudis currently working with the Detecon Al-Saudia, Doerrschuck said: "The exact number is not with me right now, but I can assure that we are in full compliance with the Saudi labor market guidelines on Saudization requirements with regards to the Nitaqat policy and we are rated green."

The company is currently providing in-house training to its Saudi staff with a dedicated teacher in both English and Arabic language, he said, adding that the company is constantly looking for qualified Saudi staff and hiring Saudis who have graduated from German universities, “and we are happy with these Saudi employees.”
