Park Hyatt has launched Hejazi food festival, which runs through the rest of February.
The event aims to provide an experience of multicultural cuisine of the Hijaz region under the theme of Hejazi nights at the hotel’s Andalusia restaurant on Thursdays of the month.
Ashwini Kumar, GM at Park Hyatt, who has 27 years’ experience with Park Hyatt in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, said: “Jeddah is a unique city, where diversity of culture exists. It has remained a melting point for centuries and the gateway of the two holy mosques for centuries. It’s also home to the Hejazi culture and traditions.”
Kumar added: That’s why we decided to show the culture of this beautiful part of the Kingdom, the Hijaz region. So, we decided to give a little bit of introduction of the history and cultural experience of Hijaz to our international and local guests, and visitors with traditional Hejazi culinary, with a touch of Hejazi traditions, culture, music and hospitality.”
Bayan Zainy, marketing communication executive, said: “Park Hyatt wants to give a unique experience to its customers and visitors of Jeddah through the magnificent services of the hotel and its traditional Hejazi food.”
She added that the main purpose of the Hejazi nights is to introduce international visitors and guests the culture and traditions as well as customs of the historical land.
The Hijaz region in the west of present-day Saudi Arabia is bordered on the west by the Red Sea, on the north by Jordan, on the east by Najd, and on the south by Asir, and its main city is Jeddah, but it is probably better known for being the gateway of the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.
