Saudi Arabian Airlines will increase its sales offices in Riyadh and Jeddah, which will be staffed with women, but in Eastern Province it is looking for suitable sites.

This was stated by Muhammad Alkaaed, deputy assistant director of sales of Saudi Arabian Airlines.

New offices will start working from next week — at King Abdulaziz base in Dhahran, King Abdulaziz navy base in Jubail, and Air Defense in Um Alsahk, he said during an event where the national carrier honored 26 of its sales employees in Eastern Province for 2013.

“We’ll be increasing the employees at King Fahd International Airport as well as at the sales office in Dammam in two months.

He said: “The prices of domestic tickets won’t change as we are the national carrier. However, international tickets will be priced depending on supply and demand as well as operational costs of flights.”

“Special needs people or military personnel as well as students will no longer have to go to offices to buy tickets because we have introduced a service called Alelm, or information system, which will be launched in three months. The IDs and papers of students and special needs people as well as military personnel will be checked to provide them benefits through this system,” said Alkaaed.

“Saudis reaction to the new service of confirming bookings or getting boarding passes or booking seats and meals has changed for the better. The number of no-show passengers has also reduced, mainly due to the increasing use of our online applications. This has apparently helped us to save time and reduce the rate of missing flights,” said Alkhaed

“Our scholarship students will benefit from our two new direct flights from Jeddah and Riyadh to Los Angeles and Canada in the first quarter of 2014,” he added.
