A group of young and promising Saudi employees from Movenpick Hotels & Resorts in Saudi Arabia successfully completed their six-week training program recently at the Movenpick Hotel in Alkhobar. The ceremony was attended by GM Markus Marti along with the heads of department at the hotel. The employees on completion of their training are ready to report back to their respective hotels equipped with more knowledge and experience, which they can apply in their job.
Some of the employees shared their experience and thoughts, notably Yasser Al-Madani from Movenpick Makkah. He said: “Upon enrolling at the Movenpick Alkhobar program, I had a proper training from the team here in all aspects of my job, for example how to answer the phone, make reservations, how to deal with guests and how best to meet and exceed their expectations.”
Ahmed Al-Salem from the Movenpick Madinah said: “Though it was a short period for 45 days that I spent here at the Movenpick Hotel Alkhobar, it was sufficient to make some positive changes. I am sure that my peers and supervisors back at my hotel will notice and will be happy.”
This is the first group of Saudi employees under a new initiative namely, the Movenpick Saudi Development Center, which was launched in the Kingdom in June. The aim of the initiative is to select Saudi employees from the different departments at the hotel and send them for six weeks' training to the different Movenpick Hotels in the Kingdom for cross-exposure and to learn and pick-up new ideas and local experience from the different parts of the vibrant Kingdom with a dynamic hospitality sector.
During the program the candidates receive classroom training sessions, practical on-the-job experience and above all learn from their colleagues at different Movenpick Hotels.
