This is to bring to the notice of the responsible officials the inconvenience faced by motorists due to absence of countdown timers at traffic signals. These countdown timers at major junctions allow near perfect traffic flow. But to our mistakefortune, there are no countdown timers at Jarir Street/Al-Ahasa Street junction.
This results in sudden braking of vehicles when the lights turn yellow which in turn causes a number of accidents. I witness at least 6-7 accidents a week at that particular junction. I’m a victim of one of these accidents.
Accidents lead to further traffic congestion because the collided vehicles aren’t moved out of the scene till an inspection is made by the traffic police. I kindly request the officials to do the needful. — Ifham Thaha, Riyadh
