JEDDAH: The Emirates Group has appointed a UAE National to a strategic HR position in North America.
Wasan Al-Husseiny became manager, human resources, for the US and Canada markets recently, overseeing the group’s HR operations in the region.
Wasan started her career with Emirates in 2006 as a trainee in Human Resources, providing business support for Emirates’ engineering department. Since then, she served in a number of operational and non-operational roles within Emirates.
After working as an HR specialist for 5 years, Wasan was promoted to HR Manager, responsible for the Far East and West Asia region.
In 2014, she became manager, HR international, managing a global team with an expansive portfolio covering Africa, Middle East, Far East, West Asia and the Indian Ocean.
“My career with Emirates has been a rewarding journey, providing me with a depth of experience. I look forward to applying the knowledge I’ve gained and I look forward to working with our team in North America to continue to build the group’s reputation across the region,” said Wasan.
Congratulating Wasan on her new appointment, Amira Al-Awadhi, Emirates vice president national development and recruitment said: “We wish Wasan all the best in her new position as Emirates’ manager HR in the US and Canada. The Emirates Group’s National Development strategy, Rehlaty, places UAE nationals in a variety of positions to support the growth of Emirates airline and dnata.
The strategy is set to recruit and retain UAE nationals through a range of career opportunities and scholarships within the group.
