MADINAH: Two people died and five others were injured in an accident on Wednesday along Hijra highway in Madinah, police and rescuers said.
Police said the driver of an SUV apparently lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn at a stretch about 65 kilometers from the holy city. Hijra highway connects Madinah and Jeddah.
Khaled bin Musaed Al-Sahli, spokesman of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Madinah, said all the victims were transported by helicopter-ambulances to the King Fahd Hospital in the holy city.
