JEDDAH: The Technical and Vocational Training Council of Makkah and the Ministry of Haj launched three programs to serve the guests of God (pilgrims) at no cost during this season’s Haj.
Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Zahrani, director of technical education council for Makkah and chairman of the technical and vocational training institute Makkah, told the Arab News that nearly 600 trainers and trainees of council will take part in three programs “Emergency Car Repairing Service,” “Electrical and Equipment Maintenance in Mina” and “Free Haircut for Pilgrims in Mina” to serve the pilgrims and visitors of Makkah.
The car repair service for pilgrims and visitors of Makkah has already been launched with 150 to 200 personnel on the Makkah highway and in Makkah on the way to holy sites. So if any car has mechanical failure, our experts specialized in technical maintenance service will provide services on the road,” said Al-Zahrani.
Al-Zahranialso said one program was launched, while others will be launched soon with an interest of advancing the level of coaching and training through programs. This will help prepare qualify the trainees for proficiency, and to implement and evaluate the training process to achieve more effective output.
“The program aims to allow trained professionals to enhance the assets and training skills the trainees learn to handle in emergency situations and apply the practical application of the uses and means of security and safety as well when dealing with the beneficiaries,” said Zahrani.
Al-Zahrani also said they also took initiatives to launch these programs to promote the principle of serving the pilgrims as a religious and national duty.
In the second program “Electrical and Equipment Maintenance in Mina” almost 360 trainers and trainees will participate to serve the pilgrims.
“The foundation seeks to expand these services in the future to contribute in providing job opportunities for qualified and trained youth, especially in the field of automobile,” said Al-Zahrani.
Abdul Haque Sindi, the supervisor of the emergency car repairing program said this program of cars maintenance has been equipped with the latest equipment for maintenance, emergency, safety and security by specialized and professionals in the auto mechanic maintenance field.
“The program includes a number of trainers and technicians equipped with latest equipment in the field sites and on the roads leading to Makkah highway, Makkah Mosque and roads going to the Holy sites in Makkah. Starting from Jeddah–Makkah highway at Shameisy, car park for pilgrims on Madina-Makkah highway, Taif–Makkah road at the entrance of police check point and Haj parking,” he said.
He also said the team is prepared to detect car problems with the specialties of diesel and petrol mechanics.
