Half of Saher fine collectors expats, claim staff in EP

A number of employees at Saher — the Kingdom’s traffic monitoring system — in the Eastern Province claim they are suffering plain injustice that entails loss of their financial rights at the hands of company officials. They also say that officials have violated the terms of the contracts signed by all employees.
The staff also revealed the presence of expat labor, estimated at more than 50 percent, working for Saher in collecting traffic violations. However, the Eastern Province Traffic Department denied this.
The staff was forced to take their problem with Saher to the Supreme Commission for the Settlement of Disputes under the Ministry of Labor to resolve the issue.
For his part, Ali Al-Zahrani, spokesman of the Eastern Province Traffic Department, denied the presence of foreign staff for the collection of traffic violations.
According to him, foreign workers are working in other fields and have nothing to do with the collection of fines by vehicles.
