Hayya Jeddah kicks off today

The iconic Hayya (Let’s Go) Jeddah festival kicks off today as the city on the Red Sea welcomes tourists for its upcoming midyear holiday.
Held under the sponsorship of Jeddah Gov. Prince Mashaal bin Majed, who is also the president of the Jeddah Tourism Development Council, Hayya Jeddah will run through Feb. 7, promoting the city as a premier Arab tourism destination after completion of the Northern Corniche renovation and development of its tourism services.
Jeddah has enhanced its attraction as a tourism hub with numerous shopping malls, commercial establishments, entertainment venues and tourist chalets.
According to the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), the success of previous Jeddah-based tourism facilities encouraged the launching of more festivals and tourism events, making it one of the fast-developing tourism investment centers.
The SCTA had launched midyear holiday campaigns through local newspapers, social networking websites, SMS the SCTA’s official website and tourism services contact centers.
The tourism drive comes as an extension of the major ad campaign launched last summer holiday under the slogan “Saudi Arabia ... tour it, discover it”. The campaign promoted Riyadh, Hail, Qassim, Al-Sharqiyah, Jazan and Jeddah as domestic tourism hubs, promoting historical sites and other tourist attractions.
