Hyderabad blasts

This refers to the article “Hyderabad blasts: Muslim youths are easy scapegoats” (Feb. 28) by Afifa Jabeen Quraishi. The article is excellent. The writer has rightly highlighted the problems Muslim youths face in the aftermath of every blast in the country and particularly in Hyderabad.
They become the easy target for the Indian police authorities and are always under the scanner for no fault of theirs. It is being said that every name of an alleged suspect is a Muslim name in the recent blasts in Hyderabad.
Even names of alleged organizations allegedly linked with the blasts are Muslim names.
It is very much surprising that despite the fact many Muslim youths, falsely implicated and arrested on flimsy grounds for the previous blasts, were found to be innocent in a court of law, Muslims are yet being targeted without a shred of evidence. The previous blasts, including the one in Mecca Masjid, have clearly been linked to the right-wing Hindutava group with overwhelming proof and confessional statements.
Despite that the media outlets, especially the TV channels, are jumping to conclusions and are targeting the Muslim community in the city and outside. — Anees Lokhande, Alkhobar
