Inspiring youth
This refers to the report “Saudi rewarded for his honesty” (May 20). It is indeed good news that Mohammed Al-Shammari, a young Saudi man from Hail, has been honored by the police in recognition of his honesty and trustworthiness. The Public Security Department's decision to reward this young man who found the money and iqama of an individual and handed it over to the police is laudable. After failing to find the owner of the lost property, he went to the Hail police station and handed over the money and the residence permit. Al-Shammari is a good example for today's youth. Such initiatives go a long way in encouraging the young generation to play their role in the formation and continuation of a healthy society.

Worsening situation
The entire Muslim world is concerned about the worsening situation in Pakistan. One of the main reasons for the daily killings is the increasing influence and hatred among various sects and groups of Muslims in Pakistan, such as, the Shiites, Sunni, Deobandi, Barelwi in addition to groups such as Laskar-e-Taiba, Sipah-e-Sahaba and others. And then there are the political parties. Nobody wants to go to Pakistan; even Pakistanis are migrating to other countries to save their lives. The solution is army rule and dissolution of the democratic character of the country. The army is the only institution in Pakistan that commands respect. A total ban on forming any political party or religious group is the need of the hour. Otherwise, these groups one day are going to get hold of nukes and blast themselves up. Pakistani administrators must take a lesson from the peaceful governance of Saudi Arabia.

Stop abuse against SRK
This is in reference to Zakaria Sultan's shocking letter titled "Banning Shah Rukh a good move" (May 20). He seems to be greatly affected by the agonies caused due to Mamata Banerjee, Lalu Prasad, and Bollywood's support to Khan. He has jumped to conclusions without analyzing the CCTV footage shot at Wankhede Stadium. Khan, besides being a VVIP, is also a human being. No one can tolerate if an ordinary security guard mishandles his daughter. The writer’s claim is baseless and completely nonsensical.
These days, it is a trend to abuse Khan to get a share of the limelight. King Khan has been in the spotlight for decades as an actor, businessman and a human being. He is practical, honest and trustworthy. Being the focus of the media, delivering hits after hits, granting interviews, and having snaps taken, all this brings him closer to his fans. His humanity, intellect and wit, shine through because of these wonderful qualities. He is just showing us who he is. Certainly not a Tom, Dick and Harry!
He has been silently doing his bit for the needy and poor, extending them lots of medical aid. King Khan funds a children's ward in a top city hospital and provides all possible help to them. He is planning to fund a cancer wing for the underprivileged in Mumbai. Khan has financed a scheme to provide electricity to a complete village in Bihar. Many think that he stays away from charity and is only bothered about filling his own bank accounts. They do not know of his secretive charity moves. There are numerous charities financed by King Khan, and accordingly in recognition of his humanitarian side, he was given the prestigious UNESCO award.
Fans who bash Shah Rukh Khan on social media go all out to insult an individual they have never met and claim to know rather well. "Resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die."
These people should stop making homophobic and racist comments against King Khan.
I wish Khan a brilliant career, a healthy, long and harmonious life filled with lots of social activities. God bless him and his family.
