This is with reference to the article “Seeing light at the end of the tunnel” (Dec. 2) by Javier Solana. The writer has painted a very encouraging picture of the world. Don’t take it as a criticism. It is true that the developments during the month of November are encouraging but it will be too early to pin hopes on those developments. It was a very beautiful roundup of the global events. Such optimistic pieces are necessary amid the global gloom. The problem is that there are always certain elements ready to disturb the intricate balance for their selfish interests.
