Obama’s problems

US President Barack Obama had emerged as a ray of hope for the millions of people dejected by the continuous political and economic crises. Unfortunately, Obama did not live up to the expectations of those people. The reason for his immense popularity across the world was his humble background. People instantly related to him and his struggle in life. Should he be called a failure? I think he tried his level best to keep his promises. One man, however, cannot overcome hurdles created by powerful lobbies working to maintain status quo. We should not ignore the fact that Obama had inherited a host of problems, which were a direct consequence of wrong policies of the Bush administration. It was not easy to clean up the mess that the Bush administration had created following the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Republicans should not blame Obama for the United States’ economic woes. They need self-accountability to understand the problems. — Rahat Ali Khan, Dammam
