This is with reference to the article “The uneasy realization” (May 25) by Hassan Barari. US President Barack Obama has disappointed millions of people around the world, particularly in the Muslim world. On his inauguration as the first African American president of the United States, the downtrodden and persecuted people across the world expressed their happiness in the hope that he might undo what his predecessors had done in the past.
I still like him as a person but as a president he will be remembered as a weak and indecisive administrator.
His insistence on the deal with Iran over its nuclear plans is a major source of concern. He appears to be oblivious to the far-reaching consequences of the West-Iran rapprochement. — Danish Karim, Dammam
