This is with reference to the report “3 UK women with 9 kids ‘on way to join Daesh’” (June 17). What on earth has gotten into the minds of these people? What do they find so attractive in this brutal terrorist organization?
Their brutal actions are widely reported and none of their acts are in accordance with the teachings of Islam. There is a great need to educate people about Islam. These reports indicate that many Muslims are not fully aware of the teachings of Islam.
Our religion does not sanction the killing of any innocent person. These brutal militants are on a killing spree. They kill everyone who does not subscribe to their skewed interpretation of Islam. The manner in which they are treating different minority communities is in sharp contrast with the Islamic ways. Islam does not allow its followers to force their philosophy on others.
These are just few examples that should be enough to discourage people from joining this brutal organization. — Ghaffar Hamad, Riyadh
