Impact of corruption

I read with interest the article “The Corrosive impact of corruption” (June 19) by Jamal Doumani. I fully agree with the views expressed by the writer. Sometimes I feel that corruption is more dangerous than terrorism. Fighting corruption is a daunting task. Presence of corruption in every society should be studied on a case-by-case basis for example in a country like Afghanistan, the reason for rampant corruption maybe different from the United States.
However, one thing is universal i.e. greed and lust for wealth. Religion could play a huge role in fighting this menace. Unfortunately, we have reduced religion to a number of rituals. As a matter of fact, religion deals with every issue of human society. It does not only deal with issues concerning an individual but also provides guidelines to the whole of the society.
