The tragic incident of Malala Yousufzai is full of grief. However, I feel that there are several more important and serious issues which need immediate attention, but the electronic and print media are unreasonably giving too much importance and huge coverage to Malala Yousufzai, a 14-year-old schoolgirl from Swat district of Pakistan.
I don’t find anything of that much importance in Malala except that she issued statements and gave interviews to some international media outlets.
She is being widely projected as a women rights activist. It seems that she has become a scapegoat in the hands of some forces, and being used as a tool in favor of some people and against some people. In my opinion, at this age she should not involve herself in controversies and politics, rather she should concentrate on her studies as she is a good student I believe.
The poor girl has already suffered a lot along with her family. It seems that surely there is some hidden agenda to use Malala for some vested interests. However, I wish Malala fast recovery, peaceful and happy life. — A reader, by e-mail
