An estimated 10,374 Tunisians will arrive in Saudi Arabia to perform Haj later this year, Nourredine Khadmi, Tunisian minister of religious affairs said after a meeting with the Saudi Minister of Haj in Jeddah on Saturday.
Khadmi, in a statement to Arab News, expressed his high regard for the efforts of the Saudi government to serve the pilgrims.
He also said that the holy places are undergoing improvements that are beneficial for pilgrims. Improvements such as the train to the holy places and the projected train between the Two Holy Mosques will greatly help people perform their religious duties.
Saudi Haj Minister Dr. Bandar bin Mohammad Al-Hajjar welcomed the Tunisian minister and the accompanying delegation.
Hajjar impressed upon the Tunisian minister the importance of adhering to the standard programs prepared by the Ministry of Haj and Endowments, like the education of pilgrims prior to their arrival in the Kingdom, and the schedule of the throwing of stones.
Hajjar also stressed the importance of concluding contracts for air transport and housing at an early stage of preparations.
