We must sincerely thank Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for granting a grace period of three months to expatriate workers for correcting their work permit status.
It is a good opportunity that should be used without wasting any time. It is also a good news that Indian Ambassador Hamid Ali Rao is taking keen interest to save and protect the interests of Indian citizens. According to Sibi George, deputy chief of the Indian mission, the embassy has set up a legal panel to provide Indian workers consultations and services of local attorneys to help them avert deportation or any punishment. It is really a good move that the lawyers would provide assistance to the workers whose residency status can be corrected and regularized.
It is heartening to know that the Indian Embassy is going to start a “Tatakal Service.” We hope that the Indian nationals would benefit at large from these services. — Zakaria Sultan, Riyadh
