King Abdulaziz University is one of the oldest, well-established, and well known universities in the Kingdom.
Jeddah Community College (JCC) is one of the colleges of King Abdulaziz University (KAU). JCC was established in 2003 under a ministerial decree and is located in the city’s Al-Rehab district. JCC is considered to be one of the best community colleges in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
JCC has been committed to serving the community at various levels in accordance with the functional needs of the job market. JCC is one of the educational establishments that has been founded to satisfy the needs of the Saudi private and public sectors, besides coping with the modern international development trend. Jeddah Community College is known as one of its kind in Saudi Arabia and is poised for a quantum leap in development of professional and technological education in this region.
JCC is the first governmental community college in the Kingdom which has opened its doors to expatriate students and working professionals its seven evening associate degree programs.
JCC strives to educate and nurture the untapped talent of youth needed for challenging tasks of the contemporary world. JCC aims to provide high quality education accessible to students from different strata and regions of the society, said Ahmed Saleh Alabdulwahab, dean of the college. The college offers educational and training programs, which give the community members the required education, skills and experience, aside from improving their educational and practical qualifications.
JCC educates the students and provides them with the required knowledge to qualify them academically and professionally, and provides an ideal match between the students’ skills and their jobs needs, and makes them productive as they join their jobs, with tendency to develop their skills.
This is performed through training, professional education, and concentrating on cooperative training. The International Faculties at JCC are highly qualified and well experienced. Moreover, the JCC is the first community college in the Middle East to receive accreditation from the Council on Occupational Education of United States. The college’s aim is to connect with the community and interact with all different cultures in society, including international schools and companies which want to train their employees,” said Alabdulwahab.
The seven evening associate degrees are offered in the following specializations: marketing, accounting, insurance, e-commerce, sales, computer networking administration and computer graphics design. There are two intakes every year. Students are enrolled into the semester system of the college.

JCC has three academic departments: Department of Computer and Information Technology (CIT), Department of Business Information Technology (BIT), Department of Health Information Technology (HIT(, In addition to these departments, College also has the supporting department of General Required Courses(GRC).
These programs were carefully selected according to the best scientific standards and after a series of consultative workshops with educationists and experts to meet the needs of the labor market. The first year at JCC is a preparatory year for most of its students with nine credit hours that focus on English, Computer Science and Mathematics. Students have to pass the subjects in this year to move on to the next year and specialize in one of the majors available. Students also study work ethics and communication skills during their second and third year in the college.
The available seven associate degree programs (three years duration) at JCC are computer graphic design (64 credit hours), computer networking (64 credit hours), marketing (64 credit hours), accounting (64 credit hours), e-commerce (64 credit hours), insurance (66 hours) and sales (36 hours).
JCC applies the credit hour system decided by the Council of King Abdulaziz University. Each academic year is divided into two major terms, each 18 weeks in length in addition to a separate eight-week summer term. Duration of each program is three years (six semesters) except sales i.e. one and a half year s (three semesters).
Duration can be reduced as a result of TOEFL based English Exemption Test. A student can get a exemption of two semesters who qualifies the English Exemption Test conducted by the Jeddah Community College.
