MINI, a British icon and arguably one of the most loved and unique car marques in the history of motoring, joined companies, educational institutions, students and members of the general public to celebrate all things British at the Best of Britain Saudi Arabia 2013.
Held at the Nayyara Banqueting and Convention Centre in Riyadh last month, the high-profile three-day event acted as a platform to promote leading British brands, designs and craftsmanship across all sectors to the Saudi Arabian market. Organized in association with UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), the British Council and the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce, and in support of the Zahra Breast Cancer Association, attendees enjoyed a series of inspirational workshops from guest speakers ranging from fashion design and entrepreneurial workshops for creative Saudi students, to market information for business people and potential investors.
MINI, together with its official importer MYNM, added its
own flavor to the event as platinum sponsor by showcasing two of its newest family members — MINI Coupe and MINI Roadster.
True to the brand’s experiential marketing roots, the vehicle displays aimed to remind audiences of its British roots, showcase that the playfulness of MINI extends far beyond vehicle design, and highlight the sportiness and adventurous positioning of these new MINI models.

Not only is it the British icon the world’s fastest growing small premium car brand, but it is also a firm favorite among local audiences. Last year, we recorded a 33 percent increase in MINI sales over the same period in 2011. This is one of the most successful years in the brand’s history in terms of Saudi sales - an impressive feat when operating in a market that predominantly favors large, luxury cars.
The compact MINI Coupe and Roadster, the world’s only two-seater MINI models, embody sportiness and agility, and provide the best-ever interpretation of MINI’s go-kart driving experience. The MINI Roadster is the first open-top two-seater MINI. Its arrival marked a new chapter in the history of the MINI brand with its embodiment of sportiness and open-air driving fun under the open sky. Even with the roof closed the MINI Roadster displays an elegant, sweeping silhouette, with the transition from soft-top to rear end highlighting its characteristic three-box design particularly clearly.
