Twenty-five teams from the Super and Premier Divisions will take part in the one-day Halla Gulla six-over knockout cricket tournament sponsored by OCC and organized by the Riyadh Cricket League at their complex on Friday.
Power Zone, nasari, Al Rabie, Castrol, Unipack, Pepsi and Falcon are the co-sponsors.
Following are the details of the tourney:
l Captains will declare 11 players before the start of the match and only 6 players will be playing the actual game with 1 wicketkeeper.
l 7 players including wicketkeeper will bat.
l Each 6 declared players will bowl an over each excluding wicketkeeper.
l Each side will play 6 overs and in case all players are out with some overs remaining, the innings will be closed.
l There will be 11 players in the field.
l 4 players must be inside the 30 yards circle at all times, excluding the bowler and the keeper.
l Each innings should not exceed more than 30 minutes.
l In case of tie, a super over will be bowled and teams will toss again.
3 batsmen and a bowler will have to be declared before the start of the innings.
If the match is a tie, in the super over as well, then most 6’s will be considered, if they are the same then most 4’s will be considered. However, if these are also the same, then the toss will decide the winner.
l Two balls will be used for both innings
l In case of any injury, the player will be rested but can return anytime after the loss of a wicket
l No runner will be allowed in the tournament
l Wide balls – Normal 2 runs and 1 extra-ball, will be granted to the batting side.
l No balls – Normal 2 run and 1 extra ball, for overstepping Free hit will be granted.
l In case of short pitch, RCL rule will apply but on 3rd short pitch and onwards, 6 runs will be awarded on each short pitch delivery
l The rest of the rules will remain the same as per RCL-playing conditions
l Helmet is compulsory during the whole inning.
