FTBJ-ICBL: Hidada scores Team of the Week victory

Hidada Ltd. gatecrashed what is increasingly shaping up as an Oryx Jets party to clinch Team of the Week honors during the 14th session in the in the FTBJ-ICBL 31st Conference bowling tournament at Jeddah Lanes here.
Hidada stepped up pace in the last two games and, with a better overall output, nosed out Sky Freight-TFC for the award 41 to 40 points.
League leader Oryx Jets compiled enough points to keep the team it toppled, Nasr Al Hajri, at bay. Oryx had 34 and Hajri 37.
Pin Slashers were a point back of Oryx on 33 followed by Oriana Akiera Sato, D’ Barkads 25 and Jem Strikers 21.
The last three spots on the day went to Avengers 16, Lance & Thirdy 11 and Taurus RDLR 6.
Sammy Ocampo gave bottom team Avengers something to cheer about when he captured the men’s Bowler of the Week award after shooting the high series of 617 on lines of 165, 190 and 199. On the distaff side, Pinky Acato posted the highest score of 586 that would have completed a Hidada double but the organizing Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Jeddah decided to give others a chance and limit a bowler to only one award. In this case the second highest scorer Aileen Miralbuna of Pin Slashers at 578 got the accolade.
Tied on 29 points after 3 games the battle between Hidada and past Team of the Week winner Sky Freight was decided on the table, Hidada beating Emy de Guzman’s team on total pinfalls 2,895 to 2,867.
Hidada’s reliable gunner, Amro Al Amri, did not disappoint as he led the team with 616. Nanding Siasoco also went the distance on 540. Grace Siasoco added 498 alongside Acato’s 586, while Jun Palacios shot 192-209 and Romy Bunagan had 200.
Yolly Santos and Rod Morales struck hardest at Sky Freight on 574 and 571. Imelda Sayago who partnered Santos on the distaff side contributed 546. With two games each were Goying Salazar 226-207, Rene Santiago 184-175 and De Guzman 182-170.
Over at Al Hajri Zaldy Bacero showed the way on 615 with able support from Randy Mata 572, Merlen Pamintuan 536 and Lenlen Berina 519.
Cesar Monares and Bonie Garcia shared three games on 187-192 and 200, respectively.
Oryx bowled just hard enough to keep the lead for the second straight week with Igna Salgado and Rolly Vistal at the helm on 585 and 577.
Along with Miralbuna, the trio of Rene Punzalan, Roger Daquioag and Carmen Bernardo played three games at 585, 540 and 520 in that order. Gary Raymundo added 206-153 and Jay Bengco 176 for Pin Slashers.
