Saudi Cultural Days in the Kyrgyz Republic has concluded its activities in the capital Bishkek in the weekend in a special ceremony held on this occasion. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic Koulev Mirza; Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Jusupbek Sharipov; the Saudi Embassy Acting Chargé d’affaires to Kyrgyzstan, Mari bin Barakah Al-Derbas and members of the embassy staff, in the presence of a heavy turnout of Kyrgyz citizens.
In his speech, Mirza expressed his country's pleasure and pride to host the Saudi Arabian Cultural Days, highlighting the importance of such events that introduce the Saudi culture and civilization to the community. The event is the first of its kind of a cultural gathering for an Arab state in Kyrgyz Republic.
He said that such events will be a strong start to strengthen ties between the two countries in political, cultural and economic fields. The deputy minister referred to the undergoing talks between the culture and tourism ministries in both countries to organize cultural days, pointing out that the Kingdom will host next year Kyrgyz Cultural Days in order to introduce the Kyrgyzstan culture and history to the Saudi people.
The Saudi Embassy Acting Chargé D’affaires expressed his thanks and appreciation to Kyrgyz Republic for hosting the Saudi Cultural Days. He also thanked the large turnout of Kyrgyzstan’s people who attended the event with great anticipation to be acquainted with the Saudi culture.
He also thanked the official of the Ministry of Culture and Information in the Kingdom for their great efforts and cooperation to make the event a success and endorsed their keenness to present and highlight the Saudi cultural heritage abroad.
The audience enjoyed watching a number of folk dances from different regions of the Kingdom during the ceremony, in addition to the most famous Saudi Arabian traditional dance, Arda.
Souvenirs were exchanged between the two sides, and models of the Holy Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque were also distributed during the ceremony, in addition to the distribution of copies of the Qur’an and Islamic books, dates and other things that represent the cultural heritage in Saudi Arabia.
