Pakistani Ambassador Mohammad Naeem Khan yesterday met Qassim Gov. Prince Faisal bin Bandar and discussed issues of common interest.
The ambassador referred to the special attachment and reverence of Pakistanis to Saudi Arabia. The ambassador admired the economic progress made in Qassim, especially the development projects.
The governor appreciated the contributions of the Pakistani community to the Kingdom’s development.
Khan thanked Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for announcing amnesty to expatriate workers and assured him that the Pakistani community would avail itself of this opportunity.
He, however, spoke of difficulties arising as a result of non-cooperation of sponsors (kafeel) and requested the governor to issue instructions to Saudi departments.
While discussing matters pertaining to welfare of community, the ambassador referred to problems related to the Pakistan International School in Buraidah. The governor agreed to solve the issue expeditiously.
The ambassador informed the governor about the non-payment of salaries to 47 Pakistanis by Al-Nessmah Al-Sharqia Company for several months in a row.
Earlier, the ambassador addressed a community meeting in Qassim and also visited the Buraidah school.
Community Welfare Attache Hammad Abid was also present during the meeting with the governor.
