Ancelotti wants to leave for Real Madrid

PARIS: Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo says coach Carlo Ancelotti has asked to leave to join Real Madrid.
Ancelotti had a meeting to discuss his future with club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Leonardo on Sunday.
Leonardo tells French sports newspaper L’Equipe that “Carlo asked to leave for Madrid, but we want him to stay. There was no firm decision, we listened to Carlo. We have to consider everything for a bit.” The Brazilian adds, “The priority is still that he remains with us. We have never contacted other managers.” Earlier this week, Al-Khelaifi said he rebuffed an approach from Madrid’s sporting director for Ancelotti.
Madrid coach Jose Mourinho is expected to leave at the end of the season.
Ancelotti steered PSG to its first French league title since 1994 last week.
