Red Dragons rebound to clinch honors in OFBC 3 + 1 Friday Afternoon League

After a so-so start Red Dragons quickly got back into the groove by winning a Team of the Week and men’s Bowler of the Week double during the second session in the the OFBC 3 + 1 Friday Afternoon League 2nd Season at the Ice Land Bowling Center.
Red Dragons went from 9 points on opening week to a top tally of 26 points following their emphatic 18-2 victory over Versatile 3D on total pinfalls of 1,825 and 1,699.
Pairs and Spares failed to take advantage playing against the bye team though its total of 22 points was still good for second on the day.
Jandel’s Pride Reinforced and Cool Guys & Feds battled to a 10-10 draw on total pinfalls of 1,755-1,740, a result that effected a change at the top of the leaderboard. Jandel’s Pride, with 17 points, took over the No. 1 spot from Cool Guys who totaled 14 points.
In the other match, RJ Transient Houses brought down The Youngsters Revival 12-8 (1,747-1,754). RJ ended up with 17 points and Youngsters with 14.
To Farida De Guzman of Jandel’s Pride went the ladies Bowler of the Week award when she shot her division’s best score of 621.
Cesar Pagtalunan set up a Red Dragons double, hitting the high series of 643 on games of 158, 178 and 211 to clinch the men’s individual award.
George Mangaliman supported Pagtalunan with his effort of 588 while Thong Mujeeb Langa contributed 176-149 and Arman Gamboa had 173.
The ladies duo of Akang Victorino and Mia Chariz Cedotes on 572 and 469 were the leading scorers at Pairs which also received 144-168 from Joey Calapatia.
Besides De Guzman the others who helped advance the Jandel’s cause were Archie Alcantara 580, Osman De Guzman 146-132 and Jana Delia Felismenia 167.
Fedelyn Bustinera was just pipped by Farida for the ladies award on 619 at the helm of Cool Guys who also received 594 from co-captain Khalid Bustinera and 527 from Edrid Mangoda.
Team captain Rudy Jamon led by example at RJ Transient as he posted the leading score of 621 to go with the 547 by Malou Nidoy, 158-216 from league commissioner Joel Nidoy and 165 from Ric Tibayan.
Vangie Lim missed 600 by four pins while setting the pace for Youngsters with a 596, while Carmen Lim tallied 572, Toto Lim 177-183 and skipper Jerry “Ka Imo” Carredo 177-183.
