Another officer assaults expatriate

The National Society for Human Rights (NSHR) in Riyadh has found a Saudi passport officer assaulting an expatriate worker. This is the second case of assault on expatriates recorded over the past few days at passport offices in the country.
An NSHR spokesman said the matter has been referred to the relevant authorities for further investigation. This follows an incident in Jeddah on Wednesday when a Saudi passport officer, with a belt in his hand, was videotaped slapping and pushing an expatriate worker at the passport office in the city.
The officer had then swung his belt in a threatening manner at other workers at the center's premises. He shouted in Arabic, according to the video posted on YouTube: "Get out. Hurry up women." At one stage he shouted: "Dog."
He then went over to a group of women sitting on the ground and shouted: "Hurry, get up, get up. Get outside, get outside now."
He is then seen striking another worker on the back with his belt as the worker moves away from him The officer in Jeddah was arrested on the orders of Interior Minister Prince Muhammad bin Naif.
