Lim, Brusette clinch Bowler of the Month titles for May

Toto Lim and Edna Brusette were the men’s and ladies Bowler of the Month for May in the monthly tournament held last Friday at the Ice Land Bowling Center.
This was the fifth in a series of monthly events in the leadup to the year-end Bowler of the Year Championship in December where the organizing OFBC (Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club) is putting up two brand new laptops as the top prizes.
Lim, a Clas B bowler, denied Vic Gonzales’ bid for the first back-to-back win of the tournament when he carded a two-game winning total of 428 in the finals.
The April champion Gonzales, bracketed in Class D, settled for the first runner-up on 415, 13 pins adrift, while Class A bowler Ed Cordova and Class B Cesar Pagtalunan were second runner-up and third runner-up on 400 and 384 respectively.
Class A Brusette easily won the two-game finals after qualifying fourth in her division, shooting 403. Class B Minda Guevarra improved her tie for third finish during the February monthly by coming in first runner-up on 384 with Evelyn Santoc just a pin down in second runner-up and Jana Delia Felesmina third runner-up on 364. Santoc and Felesmina are both Class C players.
In addition to the cash prizes first-place winners each received a 5kg. bag of rice courtesy of Makatifoods through Robert Stone. The rest of the winners received cash prizes, too.
The qualifying round topnotchers were Robert De Guzman and Akang Victorino. De Guzman rolled a four-game series of 836 on scratch scores of 181, 181, 1555 and 223 while Victorino had 795 on lines of 176, 127, 120 and 156.
