Prolific Fathi Abdulaziz of Itqan Tenpin Wizards and the Magnificent-5 rocked the lanes to capture the Best Bowler and the Best Team of the Week awards respectively during the 8th session in the Itqan Bowlers Group (IBG) Friday Afternoon Bowling League 3rd Conference at the Universal Bowling Center (UBC).
IBG Advocates headed by Ian Choco organized the tournament with the support of Nelson de Vera of Thales.
Abdulaziz powered Itqan Tenpin Wizards past Saudi-Oger 19-16 shooting the high series handicap of 931 on lines of 221, 178, 246 and 202.
Next to Fathi were Thong Asuncion (855), Fareed Aquino (740) and Rodel Molina (739). Doy del Moral contributed 556 series in three games while Choco had 174 in one game outing.
Promising Jeffrey Sobrevic led Saudi-Oger by tallying a four game game series of 876.
Joselito Santillan came in next to Sobrevic by knocking down a series of 796. Erwin Atienza and Arnold Pineda hit 788 and 720.
Mario Cantina and Eric Gonzales compiled 385 and 316 in two outings.
Magnificent-5 dismantled Roll and Bowl 24 -8. Leading scorers for Magnificent-5 was the triumvirate of Clem Ojeda (833), Anas Hamid (829) and Mar Queyquep (823). Jun Daniel shot 721 points while Omar Valdez and Alex Arada knocked down 405 and 380 points, respectively.
Ernie Tulang, Andy Carasig and Jove Marano were at the helm of Roll and Bowl by posting separate series of 823, 763 and 745. Precy Ojena collected 584 series in three games.
Angel Vipers scored another sweet-victory against Itqan Tornado 22-14 through the sterling performances of Angel Caasi (899), James Boyd (896), Dawood Sereno (793), Reiner Torres (765) and Leo Tolete (701).
With the win Angel Viper kept hold of the second spot in the team standings.
Freddie Santiago fired 876 points to spearhead Itqan Tornado. Reynald Medina and Ruben Babasa followed Santiago by submitting separate series of 861 and 803. Ric Urrutia Jr. and Butch Mateo had 680 and 664 points.
Other Results: ZEZO beat ABB JeX 22-1, Dabarkads beat Thales 21-13, NBA beat Saco 21-16 and My Girl beat Super Bowl 19-12.
Meanwhile, the newly-elected Filipino Bowling Group of Riyadh (FBGR) officers for the year 2013 – 2014 are as follows: Emerson Mitra chairman, Nelson de Vera deputy chairman for External Affairs, Mike Ecalnir deputy chairman for Internal Affairs, Rizal Dellosa director for Finance, Ric Urrutia Jr. director for Tournament & Technical Affairs, Angel Caasi director for Membership and Ruby Urrutia secretary-general.
