The National Guard will continue to play its role in the country while maintaining a high quality of service, said Prince Miteb bin Abdullah, the newly appointed minister of the National Guard.
Speaking to reporters after inspecting designs of National Guard clubs at his office in Riyadh, he commended citizen's patriotism, adding that they don’t require compulsory recruitment.
He disclosed the organization’s plan to establish a number of social and sports clubs for National Guard officers in Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam, Madinah, Hail, Qassim, Al-Ahsa and Taif. “These clubs are designed to serve National Guard residential cities in these areas,” the minister said.
The project aims at promoting cultural, recreational and sports activities among National Guard officers and creating a suitable atmosphere for developing social relations among club members and their families. They will also hold seminars, lectures and cultural events.
Khaled Al-Tayash, undersecretary at the National Guard for projects, briefed Prince Miteb on the project. Each club will cover an area of 39,787 square meters and will include sports facilities, restaurants, shops, a big hall for conducting events and another hall for lectures.
“Each club will have a women’s section spanning an area of 7,782 square meters and will have sports facilities, a gymnasium and a beauty parlor,” Al-Tayash said.
