LuLu Hypermarkets is hosting a Philippine Food Festival from today till June 21, in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy in Saudi Arabia. Ezzedin H. Tago, Ambassador of Philippines in Saudi Arabia, is opening the festival today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. in LuLuMurabba, Riyadh and on the same day at 5 a.m. in LuLu Alkhobar by Samual Madrid, welfare officer, Philippine Embassy.
The main objective of this festival is to showcase a huge range of Filipino products and foodstuffs imported from the Philippines and also a large variety of breads and confectionery items locally made in the bakeries of LuLu Hypermarkets, and also to create a platform for the nationals to mark memorable moments on the national day.
During the festival, guests will be welcomed in the Philippine traditional way and the Hypermarkets will be specially decorated for the occasion. The Hypermarket atmosphere will take guests on a journey to savor the delicious tastes of the Philippines. Product ranges like Filipino bananas and pineapples, milk fish, dried fish and pancit bihon are widely available at LuLu Hypermarkets. LuLu has been a major importer of Filipino products and made arrangements to add more products at its outlets. Moreover, the festival will be showcasing the best consumer products and food products, including groceries, fresh and frozen foods as well as offering freshly prepared traditional Filipino dishes. Practically all Filipino products will be available on attractive prices under the roof of LuLu.
Authentic flavors from the Philippines will be prepared by LuLu’s chef, who will be providing a wide variety of different authentic Filipino dishes such as kare kare, adobo, pinakbet, bulalo, sinigang, and caldreta, and sweets like pitchy pitchy, puto pao, buko pie, cassava cakes, sapin-sapin and ginatang mais in a traditional way.
The festive event supports the ongoing culinary activities at the LuLu Hypermarkets, Saudi Arabia. There will be cooking competition on June 20 at 12 noon in LuLu Murabba, Riyadh. It will be a time for the whole family to roll up their sleeves and enjoy a whole host of cooking demonstrations and workshops.
As part of this event, Lulu Alkhobar will provide a gift for kids below 10 years who appear in the Philippine’s traditional dress today between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. And after the photo session of the event, Lulu Alkhobar will be awarded two Lenovo tablets for the best photogenic boy and girl.
During this promotion period, LuLu outlets in Riyadh and Alkhobar will be decorated with huge and colorful Official Tourism Concept of the Philippines with the tag line of “WOW PHILIPPINES.”
