Sayidaty women’s magazine, a sister publication of Arab News, has been re-launched, with fresh and impressive changes to its appearance and content. It is part of the magazine’s efforts to ensure comprehensive redevelopment after every three months.
Mohammed Fahad Al-Harthi, editor in chief of Sayidaty and Arab News, said the new changes were introduced after considering the views expressed by its readers in a recent survey.
A special team of associates had distributed questionnaires among different groups of young women university students, teachers and employees, and well-known men and women who are friends of the monthly magazine.
The magazine also collected the views and proposals of various groups who had assembled at Sayidaty offices in the Kingdom and other Arab and Gulf countries.
“The magazine’s development plan was designed to preserve its identity,” Al-Harthi said, adding that new ideas have been implemented to make it more attractive.
Sayidaty has added new columns and topics focusing on human-interest stories. It has also allocated a special section named “Anizaty” for teenage boys and girls, especially university students, to air their views and ideas.
“We have decided to publish this section after conducting a detailed study on the requirements of our young readers, who play a big role in strengthening the magazine’s relations with social media channels and new media platforms,” the editor in chief said.
Sayidaty focuses on women’s issues and supports their rights in Arab societies. It publishes comprehensive reports on these issues taking into account the views of officials and women in various Arab countries.
Sayidaty has allocated special pages to highlight the achievements of outstanding women in the Arab world, especially in Gulf countries, to present them as role models for young Arab women.
The beauty and fashion pages have also been revamped with innovative and fresh thoughts and ideas. According to the survey, the magazine’s regular readers prefer its first few pages, and the beauty and fashion pages.
The new edition has more than 260 pages and contains a number of investigative reports. There are also special articles on health, attractiveness, décor, the kitchen, tourism and culture.
The art file deals with the lives and activities of well-known Gulf and Arab singers, actors and actresses, and those from Turkey, India and other Asian countries. This has made Sayidaty an important source of reference for well-known artists.
