Nasair announced that it had received its first four new Airbus A-320s as part of its deal to purchase 10 new aircraft which are all scheduled to be delivered during 2013.
This exercise falls in line with nasair’s efforts to increase its fleet of Airbus A320s to provide for the ever increasing demand of its customers.
This highlights the continued growth of the airline, which has expansion plans both within and outside Saudi Arabia, Raja Azmi, CEO, nasair, said.
These four new aircraft are the first to be received by nasair in 2013, which will be followed by an additional 6 aircraft to be inducted in the company’s fleet.
This is in addition to 16 aircraft already in the fleet. He further stressed that increasing the fleet in this manner highlights the clear vision of the airline in the coming years in terms of expanding its operation and serving a wider number of passengers both within and outside the Kingdom, he said.
Megat Ardian, COO, nasair, said the arrival of the new aircraft comes at an opportune time as it coincides with Ramadan when demand peaks.
He stressed that nasair will be adding 32,000 seats a day and will have 12 daily return flights from Riyadh to Jeddah at the commencement of Ramadan.
Since its inception in 2007, nasair has carried more than 11 million and has more than 950 weekly flights and operates 88 routes both in and outside the Kingdom .
