Youngsters notch perfect double in OFBC 3 + 1 Friday Afternoon League

The Youngsters Revival edged out Red Dragons in a thrilling battle for Team of the Week honors during the sixth session in the OFBC 3 + 1 Friday Afternoon League 2nd Season at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.
Both teams won by 20-0 shutout, Youngsters against the bye team and Dragons against Makatifoods, but the Youngsters gained the top rank points of 8 with a better total pinfalls of 1,781 than the Dragons’ 1,762 for rank points of 7.
In the total win points tally the Youngsters had a perfect 28 and Dragons 27.
Also, Carms Lim made it a Youngsters perfect double by winning the ladies Bowler of the Week award and this week’s honoree joined Dragons as the only teams to win at least two Team of the Week accolades.
The Replacement of Khalid Bustinera thrashed Versatile Guys 3D 16-4 on total pinfalls of 1,722-1,675 rank points of 6-4 and total win points of 22-8.
In the other match, RJ Transient Houses defeated Pairs and Spares 12-8 (1,632-1,692 2-5 14-13).
Carms outbowled everyone in her division with 571 as she teamed with Vic Gonzales (593) at the vanguard of the Youngsters’ attack. Carms’ father, Toto Lim, added a valuable 190-204 while team captain Jerry “Ka Imo” Carredo contributed 167.
The Dragons of Manny Tibay did not go home empty handed despite losing the battle for team honors thanks to Cesar Pagtalunan who claimed the men’s Bowler of the Week plum after shooting the high series of 656.
Helping out Pagtalunan at the Dragons with two games each were Bash Langa 153-160, Tom Langa 135-167 and Arman Gamboa 139-172. Khalid led by example at Replacement with a solid 609 while Allan Salamanes backed him up on 528. Jayme Lugue carded 141-151 and Fedelyn Bustisnera had 184 to round out the Replacement scoring.
Tirso Bambalan and Danny Francisco showed the way at Versatile Guys with rounds of 575 and 574.
The penultimate week of first round eliminations saw a minor shakeup in the team standings. Versatile Guys lost second place to the Youngsters and slid to fourth. The Youngsters were in fourth position at the start of the day.
