The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) declined to 7,695.25 points yesterday, showing a reduction of 22.01 points or 0.29 percent for the entire session. It went 8.43 points above and 32.91 points below the break-even line during the day.
Among market cap indices only Large caps managed to close a little higher. Saudi Arabia Fertilizers Co. (SAFCO) turned in a splendid performance among large caps, soaring up 3.91 percent for the day. It also topped the gainers’ chart at Tadawul, closing the day at SR 152.75.
Only six out of Tadawul's 15 sectors indices witnessed a positive change, adding nearly 23 points. Remaining nine sectors closed the session in the red territory, trimming 325 points for the day.
Multi-Investment sector remained key gainer, advancing 0.22 percent. On the other hand, Industrial Investment and Real Estate sectors showed the worst performance, declining by 1.31 percent and 1.28 percent respectively.
Market breadth was negative, whereby 110 symbols closed in green and 37 closed in red, while 9 remained unchanged.
Saudi Pharmaceutical Indus. & Medical Appliances Corp. (SPIMACO) and Saudi Industrial Investment Group delivered a largely negative performance, going down by 6.05 percent and 4.34 percent respectively.
Tadawul turnover went down by 4.7 percent in terms of volume and 7.09 percent in terms of value. Total volume set sold approximately 167 million shares, a decrease of 30.8 percent over the 50-day average level.
Alinma Bank appeared to be the most active stock, liquidating more than 24.7 million shares, which equates 14.8 percent of overall market volume.
