This refers to the report “Mataf ban on wheelchairs at peak hours” (July 14). I think, it is a very good decision as during peak hours circumambulating the Kaaba becomes very difficult if wheelchairs are also around. With the construction work going on in the Haram, it is necessary to keep the flow of crowd smooth and comfortable.
It is nice to read that the mosque will use 700 cameras to monitor the flow of pilgrims to prevent any stampede. I think, that is an excellent safety and security step for the pilgrims, which will enable them to perform their religious rites with ease. Also, arrangement of extra four exit doors will ease congestion and will make pilgrims more comfortable. — Anees Lokhande, Alkhobar
