JCCI launches website to bring together employers and employees

The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) is to hold a press conference on Wednesday at Sheikh Saleh Al-Turki Auditorium on the rectification of legal statuses in Kingdom. The press conference will also see the launch of a website created by the JCCI to showcase jobs in Saudi Arabia.
Nosheen Ahmed, coordinator of the JCCI Social Program, said that the program will be attended by individuals from the Makkah Governorate, the Labor Ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Passport Department and the consulates of Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Ethiopia and Egypt. “We are going to discuss the program which the JCCI has started to help people rectify their statuses and the facilities that are provided by the Ministry of Labor within the time limit. We will also officially launch the website to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers. The website is already ready and username and passwords have already been given to the relevant consulates for data entry. The site will, however, officially be launched by Sheikh Saleh Kamel, the president of the JCCI,” she said.
She added that the JCCI is looking forward to work on its next step of easing the process of exit visas, rectifying statuses and resolving other problems faced by people and consulates.
“The consul generals will speak about the problems they are facing, their suggestions, and the role of the JCCI and the present situation. As for us, from the beginning of this program our aim has been to help consulates and expat workers who are looking for job opportunities and to rectify their statuses,” she said.
Faisal Bataweel, a representative of the Social Responsibility Department at the JCCI, said that the JCCI is trying to solve the problems faced by consulates, immigration authorities and illegal workers who wish to return to their home countries.
He said the launching of the website is the first step of the program which has been started by the JCCI to help consulates and job seekers. The next step is to make the process of rectifying of statuses easy, supporting the immigration office, reducing paper work and distributing the load to other areas.
The role of the JCCI in supporting the campaign for correcting the situation of illegal workers is according to Saudi law, which promotes entrepreneurship. The Jeddah Center for Social Responsibility’s vision is to develop the concept of social responsibility development according to the values of social solidarity and Islamic morals and based on international standards for corporate citizenship.
