EPCA holds 33rd annual prize distribution for seasons 2011-2013

The Eastern Province Cricket Association honored the outstanding performers including teams and players of the 2012 – 2013 seasons at its glittering 33rd annual prize distribution ceremony at Mercure International Hotel here recently.
In attendance were dignitaries of the Eastern Province, sponsors, guests and representatives of EPCA member-clubs.
More than 240 players attended the ceremony.
Zahid Haider, EPCA vice president, started the proceedings by inviting young Iftikhar Tanveer for the recitation of Holy Qur’an and introduction of the guests to the audience.
Abdul Aziz Alnaimi, chairman of EPCA, was the chief guest.
Among the prominent guests were Navin Baby, vice president, Alturki group, Fayyaz Aslam Shaikh, Managing Director, Al-Dossary Hardware, Mohammad Azhar Farooqui, Managing Director SST, Mr. Waheed Choudry, Arshadul Haq, Saleem Akther and Rehan Quresh.
All sponsors and their representatives and guests also spoke briefly and assured their support to EPCA in future and gave their commitment to sponsor more tournaments.
Chief guest Abdul Aziz Alnaimi said: “I am impressed by the way EPCA is running the show.” He assured EPCA support and encouraged it to keep on promoting cricket in Eastern Province and urged local youngsters to come forward and play the game of cricket. He congratulated EPCA Executive Committee and truly appreciated the efforts by everyone to make this ceremony possible.
Navin Baby, vice president of Alturki, also promised his firm support and sponsorship in the years to come. In his welcome address the EPCA President Farhat Mahmood highlighted the rapid growth of EPCA and committee members, volunteers and the cricket players who made the season 2011-2013 tournaments very successful.
Farhat also expressed his gratitude on behalf of EPCA to sponsors for their sponsorship and support during the seasons 2011-13. He also thanked Nadeem Nadvi, CEO Saudi Cricket Center, for his continuous support in the promotion of cricket in the Kingdom.
Later all the players from the winning teams and the runner-ups teams were presented with shield and individual cups. EPCA also presented special appreciation shield to sponsors and supporters of EPCA.
