Stone, Santoc OFBC Bowlers of the Month for July

Bob Stone and Evelyn Santoc emerged Bowlers of the Month to lead their divisions’ set of winners for July in the OFBC monthly tournament at the Ice Land Bowling Center.
Stone, a Class B bowler, poured on the heat in the two-game finals shooting 201 and 214 to post a runaway win in the men’s division on 447. He ranked fourth at 747 after the qualifying round.
Class C Caloy Nuguit simply could not match the hot Stone and wound up a distant second on 412 built around scratch games of 184 and 180.
Tirso Bambalan, a Class D player, was third on 391 (171-156).
In the women’s division, February Bowler of the Month Carms Lim narrowly missed what could have been her second triumph in this seventh in a series of monthly events in the leadup to the year-end Bowler of the Year Championship in December where the organizing OFBC (Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club) is putting up two brand new laptops as the top prizes.
Class D Lim qualified first with a four-game series of 803 but in the finals Santoc, the fourth qualifier, denied the youthful lady bowler firing a 161 scratch in the second game to Lim’s 136. In the first game Santoc had 141 and Lim 145.
Santoc ended up with a winning two-game total of 392 while Lim returned 389 in second place. Jana Delia Felesminia, a Classs C player like Santoc, took third place on 380 (136-154).
Class D Gino Vallejo topped the men’s qualifying on 811 (168, 166, 172 and 177).
As usual, OFBC supporter Makatifoods through Stone gave away a 5kg. bag of rice to each of the first-place winners in addition to the cash prizes. The rest of the winners received cash prizes, too.
