Alkawther Industries Co. signed a contract with the Saudi Industrial Property Authority (MODON) For the design and implementation of a desalination plant with a capacity of 15,000 m3 per day at the second industrial zone in Dammam worth SR35 million.
The agreement was signed by Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, minister of commerce and industry and chairman of the board of directors of the Saudi Industrial Property Authority (MODON), and Ahmed Gashlan, CEO of Alkawther Industries Co. in the presence of MODON Director General Saleh bin Ibrahim Al-Rasheed.
Commenting on the new contract, Gashlan said: "This project represents the beginning of cooperation between Alkawther Industries Co. and MODON, and in the coming period will be targeting a number of similar projects for industrial cities that play an active role in the development of infrastructure in the industrial cities in the Kingdom.”
Gashlan noted that the company was founded in 1979 and considered to be the first one to design and manufacture water and wastewater treatment plants and pollution control equipment. It also offers reverse osmosis, desalination, filtration, and plant installation, operation, and maintenance services.
Alkawther Industries Ltd. operates as a subsidiary of Al-Murjan Group and has been restructured during the last six months to be able to keep up with the market competition in this area and to ensure the provision of premium services to its clients.
