The Jeddah Municipality has announced the 2013 Eid Festival, with more than 200 different activities for entertainment, theatrical performances, stand-up comedy shows, traditional competitions, heritage and cultural shows and much more under the slogan “Your Eid is our Eid” on Thursday.
The announcement of the Eid festival was made by Mayor of Jeddah Hani Abu Ras during a press conference with journalists at the municipality office.
Abu Ras said there will be more than 200 different activities taking place at different locations throughout Jeddah, including malls, the Corniche and the old town, in addition to entertainment venues and theaters.
He further said that the festival is organized with the cooperation of the private sector this year and that he expects the activities will be totally different and more enjoyable.
The celebrations will commence from the first day of Eid, with fireworks and entertainment shows. In addition, a series of recreational and cultural programs will begin from the second day of Eid for four days.
The celebrations will begin at the Corniche near Hamra and the new Corniche and will include the King Abdul-Aziz cultural center, Abar Al-Ragama, and the municipality’s cultural events garden. Celebrations will include a number of cultural competitions, family entertainment programs, folk dances and comedy shows.
The Jeddah Municipality organizes this festival every year to provide maximum entrainment and enjoyment to the residents and visitors of Jeddah under the aegis of Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal and Jeddah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Majed with the aim of increasing domestic tourism.
The entire city will be decorated with lights and Saudi flags along the streets. In addition, different newspapers and magazines have been awarded for being sponsors of the 2013 Eid Festival.
