Kingdom Dream Games Part 2 opens today

After a long break, the Filipino Arabian Basketball Association (FABA) mounts another big tournament starting Friday at the Al-Nada Sports Club along the Dammam-Alkhobar highway.
Dubbed Kingdom Dream Games Part 2 the event showcases the outstanding ballclubs in the Eastern Province. Mainly sponsored by the Fahad Alireza Engineering Consultant and Hempel Paints Saudi Arabia as platinum sponsors the second edition of the Kingdom Dream Games is to run for more than four months with the final games set for Dec. 20.
To kick-off the event, Bangus Restaurant and NPC Pipers play the third and final game of their best-of-three championship series in the Premier League of the First Kingdom Dream Games. Also, Lanao-Leyte Warriors and FAEC clash at 11 a.m. after the opening ceremony to decide the undisputed champion title in the Kingdom after they won the Eid regional exhibition games in Jeddah and Dammam respectively.
“It will be very exciting to watch this final match of the two giant teams which also coincides with the opening of the Part 2 of the Kingdom Dream Games. Our fans will really enjoy watching the Kingdom Dream Games,” FABA Chairman Abdul Aziz “Jawo” Dizon said.
Participating in the Premier League of the KDG2 are FAEC Seniors, NPC Pipers, Bangus Restaurant, ACEC, and Jologs five. In the Inter-Commercial League, the participating teams are the FAEC Juniors, ACEC, Khobar Warriors, and Quiapo squad.
In the Non-Rated Division, the entries are United Bicolanos, Daggers, Bisdak, Chance Team, Jakals, Nesma, and Khobar Warriors. The Inter-Company Division A will have Flour Arabia, Issam Kabanni, Barangay RHM, KFMMC, ACEC and Saipem. Vying for the Inter-Company Division B are Fugro Suhaimi, Hempel Paints, Juton Paints, Al Jazirah Ford, Mustang, Saudi Aircon, and Al Manifa.

Also supporting the event is Pepsi Saudi Arabia as gold sponsor, while the silver sponsors are NCB Quickpay, Bangus Restaurant, Trans Saudi Travel and Tours, Kabayan Restaurant, McDonald’s, Giordano Fashion, and Almarai.

Basketball Referees Association of Dammam (BRAD) was tapped to handle officiating for the whole duration of the league. Aside from Dizon, the other FABA officials are Commissioner Ely Panahon, and directors Ding Arana, PR; Mark Dizon, Finance; and Caloy Mereria, Technical. Committee officials are Jojo Dale Carlos Dizon, Robert Bantilan, Gil Colegado, Ozzy de la Cruz, Toto Iremedio, and adviser Victor de los Santos.
