Etisalat will introduce the first large-scale discussion platform on machine-to-machine (M2M) technology to the UAE by hosting the M2M Middle East Forum 2013 in Dubai on Sept. 22 and 23.
Discussion topics will include smart cities, smart enterprises, smart governance, smart grids, smart metering, remote monitoring, smart health care, security and smart retailing.
Abdullah Hashim, senior vice president of ICT, Etisalat, said: “We are leading the market in UAE by providing connectivity and advanced M2M solutions, thanks to our 3G network and our M2M Control Center. As the next step, we introduced this event to the UAE to provide a stage for discussion and action. Bringing together leading global and international players in the market will help inspire new revenue streams for players of M2M in the UAE.”
Etisalat’s focus on M2M solutions has led to the success of several initiatives that will be discussed during the keynote speech at the event: “Driving Sustainable M2M Solutions in UAE”.
Etisalat recently launched the M2M Control Center, which allows enterprise customers to activate, manage and rapidly scale connected device businesses or deployments.
The M2M Control Center will especially benefit businesses in vertical markets such as construction, infrastructure, retail and oil and gas. Etisalat has also developed fleet management solutions for several customers, including Bee’ah.
Through M2M communication, devices can exchange data automatically in real time without human intervention.
This can drive innovation, create new revenue streams, shorten product cycles, increase agility and reduce costs.
The reduction of energy costs, as a result of this, is also aligned with Etisalat’s focus on a sustainable future for the UAE.
The two-day M2M Middle East Forum 2013, organized by DMG events, is expected to bring international enterprise leaders and M2M solution providers to share knowledge and explore new solutions that address industry challenges, improve enterprise operations and create a competitive edge.
