Alinma claims 3rd Team of Week award in Interbank Bowling League

Alinma Bank mentored by ITBR Chairman Bobby Ting booked its third Team of the Week honors and snatched the top spot from Shabab SABB by narrow margin during the 6th week of the Interbank Tenpin Bowling League 2013 Conference at the InterContinental Hotel Bowling Center here.

The thrilling match between Alinma and SAMA-Abana ended in a draw but the former edged ahead by 50 bonus points (370-320) with excellent games in the second game. Jerry Barce, Willie Bondoc and Obet Mata pushed their team to victory with 827, 746 and 697 four-game series respectively. Lito Tolentino and Jojo de Silva assisted with 600 and 574 while Angel Train tallied 356.

Top scorers at SAMA-Abana were the trio Jun Bolocboloc, Bernie Torres and Clem Guelas who rolled 835, 756 and 687. Jun Macarandan and captain Teody Zulaybar tallied 634 and 550 while David Smart added 346.

BSF-CBG captained by Ken Hechanova continued to improve with a victory against former champion PNB Unified of Usman Navarro (340-130). Abet Minosa broke the individual league record with his 210, 190, 242 and 233 high series to bring home the Bowler of the Week award. He was supported by Alfred Estrada and Guilbert Masias with 741 and 690 y while captain Ken Hechanova and Art Bumatay rolled 520 and 510 and Dennis Buot 378 in two games.

PNB’s top performers were Rey Bautista and Sonny Alviso who returned 758 and 713. Roland Garcia, Ronald Cruz and Mixi Lechuga tallied 579, 506 and 486 while Tenz Taeza, James Frizzle and Patrick Alviso had 173, 155 and 130.

The third match was another disappointing week for SAIB having been blanked by SHB 280-0. Saudi Hollandi Bank was consistent all throughout the four games. Rodel Yap was on top of his game, his last before finally leaving the Kingdom for good, shooting a 747. He was supported by Jil Hembra, Gerry Ayonon and Arnel Bernabe who rolled 739, 726 and 677 while Cholo Nieto and Val Baraquio had 364 and 358.

Captain Dong Calub failed to find the perfect combination as he struggled with his lineup in every game. He led his team with a four-game series of 582. However, it was Julius Queypo who scored high with his 30-handicap per game. They were assisted by Edwin Fontiveros, Agie Dazo and Ariel Diaz with 480, 467 and 423 while Joey Salem rolled 293 and Eddison Austria had 150.
Defending champion SABB defeated Banque Saudi Fransi 272-160. The match actually ended in a 2-2 draw but SABB ruled the games with a staggering 112 bonus points when it scored 1,012 and 962 during the third and fourth games. Luis Bomguit, Francis Guron and Sam Alinsod carded 789, 728 and 709 in that order. They were assisted by Fahad AL Heza and Arnold Jesena who tallied 629 and 548 while Jaffer AL-Kathiri had 305.

Edwin Timango was at his best in BSF with a four-game series of 758. Joseph Adao (703), Ric Camara (685) and captain Jun Bantug (673) were the other notable scorers at BSF with Dawood Sereno and Jerry Villanueva on 376 and 344.
