Convergent charging market: Ericsson is revenue leader

Ericsson has announced it was named the worldwide revenue leader in the convergent charging market by Infonetics Research in its market share and forecast report Convergent Charging Software and Services, issued in June 2013.
The report tracks charging software built to handle the many dimensions of convergence in real-time, across payment methods, service and customer types, and access networks. Related consulting, integration and managed services are also included in the Infonetics analysis.
"Flexible billing and charging solutions are necessary to support today's rapidly changing market conditions, enabling operators to smoothly transition customers between prepaid and postpaid payment models or to support shared data plans, all while maintaining a single profile of the subscriber," said Shira Levine, directing analyst for service enablement and subscriber intelligence at Infonetics Research. "Ericsson is the 2012 revenue leader in this important market segment, which we predict will grow substantially over the next several years."

Among Infonetics Research reports recently issued, Ericsson was cited by operators as the top convergent charging vendor following the Convergent Charging Strategies and Vendor Leadership: Global Service Provider Survey in July; and as the service delivery platform (SDP) vendor of choice after the SDP Strategies and Vendor Leadership: Global Service Provider Survey was done in June.
